Althought I´m new on the list I want suggest that someone base a German GNU Pascal List, esspecially for german Beginners a German Mailinglist is much better than English one I think. What the others think about that?
Advantage: This would be a good forum for people who are not that familiar with the English language.
Disadvantage: This would split up our resources even more. Someone would have to watch both lists and translate if a discussion becomes interesting for both groups.
I wouldn't mind to set up a German-speaking list (for instance gpc-de@gnu.de) and/or providing aliases for existing list in other languages (for instance gpc-fr@gnu.de). We also can use other domains in the future (gnu-pascal.org, and probably also gnu.org).
What do you think?
While I can see that, from the number of German speakers on this list, a German language group may be of advantage to them, the question then arises about speakers of Dutch, Norwegian, Serbo-Croat, Turkish, Yoruba, Swahili, Zulu, etc ... (okay, some of this may be a bit far fetched, and these people may well have no problems with English) - but the question still remains - if a specific language list were to be started, why not others? And if not, why not? And if others are started, who will manage the multiplication of efforts?
Just a thought (I do realise that, being a native English speaker disqualifies me from participation in this discussion, since, by definition, I am an obvious beneficiary of the present arrangement).
